March 2021 news

Well, it’s been a while, and COVID certainly stole a lot of 2020 from us, but I still managed to keep busy writing wise (as well as continuing to hold down a full time job throughout – NOT working from home, bah humbug).

After signing up for Karel Segers’ “Immersion” programme, I then went on to participate in Screen Canberra’s Accelerator TV Pod. I now have the show bible and a pilot script for my new TV comedy, The Darkest Hour Gothic Emporium, which I’ve pitched to a few producers.

I’m currently in the middle of a Sketch Comedy Course with Improv Theatre Sydney – led by the inimitable Bridie O’Connell, with whom I did a cabaret course back in 2014!

Having become a crazy plant lady in late 2020, I’m now working on the concept and sketches for a series based on Crazy Plant People. I’m toying with doing a cabaret/musical version for Sydney Fringe Festival. My first foray into writing for performance was my show “In Between Days” back in 2013 at the Newtown Theatre, for Sydney Fringe. I’ve just spent a week at the Adelaide Fringe Festival, being entertained and inspired, so it’s in my thoughts to get involved once more! Watch this space.
